Time and light have always been among the most important aspects of life.
Before the discovery and conceptualization of time, we understood time through light, and it has held a special place in our lives. The hourglass is one of humanity's inventions that simply illustrates the valuable concept of time.
However, it has recently lost its practical use in daily life and has become a part of our home or office decor.

In this concept, I have attempted to reintroduce the practical use of the hourglass, which abstractly represents time in confined segments, into our daily lives. I aimed to connect it with our new digital lifestyle. Additionally, I have endeavored to design this concept to integrate the physical connection to light and time into both our living and working environments.

Furthermore, I have tried to address and correct the flaws I found in the traditional form of the hourglass and the lighting sources we typically purchase for our desks and homes within this product.

Flaws of the hourglass: After the time has elapsed, it does not provide any notification or signal, requiring the individual to notice it themselves, which demands extra attention. Additionally, it cannot record or analyze the number of times it has been used throughout the day, making it merely a decorative item in daily life.
In terms of lighting, one of the issues with common light sources is their monotony after hours of use, failing to convey a sense of liveliness in the light.
